Habitat management at Cockerham Marsh

Sat 23 Feb 2013 - Sat 23 Feb 2013 10.00 - 16.00

Habitat management task day at Cockerham Marsh.

This task day is in conjunction with the Amphibian and Reptile Group of North Lancashire (ARGNL) and the Amphibian and Reptile Conservation Trust (ARC) to remove gorse and generally tidy up the site prior to a reintroduction of Natterjack Toads later in the spring.

Things to bring:

• lunch, flask and drinking water
• old outdoor/working clothes and strong footwear
• waterproofs in case of wet weather
• old gloves if you have them (if not just let us know and we can provide them)

Our pond management tasks will be done in partnership with the local rangers and we'll be cutting back trees and scrub then burning the brash.

We'll meet up at 10am for all our tasks and work through till approx 4pm (but if you need to leave earlier than this no problem). If you think you can attend please e-mail Chris Arthur (ARGNL) at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and I can send you directions of where to meet up.
