Mon 24 Oct 2011 - Mon 24 Oct 2011 11.00 - 14.00

Where can we expect to find great crested newts?
The science of predictive mapping.

Free Seminar on Monday October 24th
Keynote speaker: Dr. Lee Brady

(database manager for the Amphibian and Reptile Group of South Lancashire)

In many areas, distribution records for great crested newts are old unreliable or simply non-existent. An HSI assessment indicates a pond’s suitability for gcn, but the science of predictive mapping can highlight, with increasing accuracy, those geographical areas where great crested newts are most likely to occur.
Predictive mapping information is now available from the Amphibian and Reptile Group of South Lancashire, so if your work involves great crested newts (orwidespread reptiles) in Lancashire, Greater Manchester or Merseyside, register for
this seminar to find out more.

Venue: Witton Park Visitors Centre, Blackburn BB2 2TP
